Wendy Joyner became certified as a group fitness instructor and began teaching in 1999. Then in 2009 she found Zumba®. It was a couple of years after her dad passed away and was having a hard time coping with his death. She was so happy to have found Zumba® because it really helped her to channel her grieving in a different way. Wendy has been a group fitness instructor since 1999 and has taught everything from aqua to Pilates.
Wendy is licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Sentao, Zumba Toning and Strong by Zumba.
Wendy has always loved dance and has been dancing since she was 9. When she got to the age of 21, she was dancing with a dance team at a local night club which led her to being on the game show called MTV’s Lip Service. She once was overweight and decided to get in shape and be healthy and started to work out when she was 21. She lost over 25 pounds and decided she wanted to help others.
Wendy really loves to help others to take their minds off of everyday life and to get healthy. If she can help someone to smile past their pain or anything else, they have going on in their life, she feels like she has done something worthwhile. She feels she has the best job on the planet thanks to Zumba®.
