Katrina, a St. Louis native, began her career as a fitness professional fueled by her lifelong passion for dance. Formally trained in tap dance, she was a member of her high school dance squad and went on to make history at Mizzou by founding the first dance squad for women of color. She also served as step captain for her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
After graduating from college, Katrina sought an outlet to continue her passion for dance and discovered auditions for fitness instructors at a local gym. In 2005, she earned her AFAA certification and began teaching Hip Hop dance classes. By 2008, she became a licensed Zumba Instructor and has since acquired numerous Zumba certifications, including Aqua, Toning, Senato, Step, and STRONG Nation. Most recently, she expanded her expertise by earning certifications in Les Mills-branded formats, including Body Balance, Strength Development, and Pilates.
Katrina is deeply passionate about all aspects of wellness and considers it a privilege to support others on their fitness journeys. A breast cancer survivor, she credits her active lifestyle and dedication to fitness for her remarkable ability to heal and recover quickly. After undergoing major surgery, she returned to teaching classes within just eight weeks.
In addition to her fitness career, Katrina holds an executive leadership role at a local nonprofit, further demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact in her community.
