Stephanie Nelson is the visionary SheEO behind Stepz Dance Fitness Studio and The RAWmix Juice Bar in Oakley, California. A certified plant-based nutrition coach and seasoned group fitness instructor, Stephanie has been inspiring healthy living through music, movement, and community for over 13 years. She earned her AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification in 2013 and has since built an inspiring career rooted in wellness, empowerment, and joy. In addition to teaching, she has choreographed dance for more than 20 years.
Stephanie is licensed in Zumba®, U-Jam Fitness®, and MIXXEDFIT® and also teaches hip hop and line dancing. She serves on the U-Jam Fitness leadership team as a choreographer, presenter, and JamKru member. Her energy has lit up the stage at major events such as In-Shape Health Club’s Best of the Bay and the World of Dance U-Jam Unity Fest.
In 2018, Stephanie opened Stepz Dance Fitness Studio, where she teaches children, teens, adults, and seniors. She is known for her unique hip hop style and motivational approach to dance and fitness for all ages. She also choreographs for her studio’s dance performance team. Her chair fitness classes are designed for older adults and individuals with mobility challenges, while her total-body toning sessions incorporate hand weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises.
In 2024, Stephanie expanded her wellness vision by launching The RAWmix Juice Bar, a plant-based juice bar connected to her studio. This powerful combination reflects her mission to nourish the body from the inside out. Through RAWmix, she also leads Plant-Based Fitness Challenges, motivating her community to stay active, eat clean, and live healthy.
Her passion and commitment have earned her numerous community honors, including Best Fitness Instructor, Best Dance Studio, Best Health Club, and Best in Kids Entertainment. She is also the recipient of the Community HOPE Award for helping people stay active during the pandemic through safe, socially distanced outdoor block parties.
Stephanie lives in Brentwood with her husband, daughter, and son. As a preacher’s wife, she and her husband serve their community through ministries at the Brentwood Church of Christ. Whether on stage, in the studio, behind the juice bar counter, or serving through her church, Stephanie leads with heart, purpose, and a deep desire to encourage and uplift everyone she meets.
