Nasreen Allen, Yoga Instructor

Nasreen Allen

Nasreen, a dedicated yoga practitioner, discovered her passion for the art at a young age. A serendipitous encounter with a yoga book in her grandparent’s basement sparked her curiosity, and she eagerly seized the first opportunity to experience a yoga class. This early exposure ignited a lifelong love affair with the practice. In 2005, Nasreen began a dedicated yoga journey, subscribing to Yoga Journal and incorporating yogic principles into her daily life.

Prior to pursuing her yoga teacher certification, Nasreen focused on her studies in holistic health. She earned a certification as a holistic health coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in holistic health from Goddard College.

During her time at Goddard, Nasreen embarked on a new yoga path, completing an Ashtanga yoga teacher certification, expanding her knowledge beyond the Vinyasa style she was familiar with.
The birth of her daughter marked a significant turning point in Nasreen’s journey. Her experiences during pregnancy led her to become a birth doula and obtain a certification in prenatal yoga.

As a yoga teacher, Nasreen brings a lighthearted and joyful approach to the mat. She believes that movement should be fun and incorporates various elements of yoga beyond asana, including meditation and breath work. Nasreen enjoys teaching prenatal, Vinyasa, and yin yoga. When students join her on the mat, she strives to create a welcoming and accepting space where they can feel safe to drop their shields and unlock the benefits of yoga. Her classes are filled with smiles, laughter, and a focus on movement and breath.

Beyond yoga and holistic health, Nasreen is passionate about spending quality time with her family, traveling, reading, and learning. She is a birth nerd and loves her work as a birth doula. A lifelong learner, Nasreen is always seeking new knowledge through podcasts and books.
Nasreen’s self-care practices include yoga, gym workouts, meditation, breath work, journaling, and spending time outdoors.
