Meghann Young is a e-RYT 500 through the International Yoga Alliance®. She has taught over 2000 teaching hours and has certifications for Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, a specialized youth & trauma recovery through Breathe 4 Change, BUTIMVMT deep certification, and is a somatic movement practitioner creating her own class experience called “Om Yeahhh” that incorporates yoga, dance, “breathtwerk” and divine feminine sensuality practices for trauma release and building confidence in her students. She is also a certified sound healer through LifeChanging Energy® and incorporates sound healing into her classes. Meghann formerly taught Twerk’n Tone Dance Fitness™ and is a certified MixxedFit® level 2 instructor.
She is originally from Roswell, New Mexico and graduated with a degree in chemistry from University of New Mexico and before changing her career path, spent a year working at Los Alamos National Laboratory in research and design finding new chemotherapy treatments.
She has been teaching secondary science for 23 years and guides an after school yoga program for at-risk students to guide them through breathwork and emotional regulation tools.
Meghann has a Masters of Education from University of Nevada Las Vegas and has written curriculum for the Clark County School District, San Diego County Education Association, and Kaiser Permanente health education for employees. She has a strong passion to create learning experiences for all her students that promote a love for science and a curiosity for innovative solutions to problems; changing the current format of how our youth are currently educated nationwide.
Meghann served as a Silver Level coach for USA Wrestling and while living in Las Vegas for 18 years helped build and pioneer girls wrestling in the silver state. She is the 2015 Women’s freestyle champion at 53 kg, competing in Athens, Greece in the Masters age group.
As a yoga instructor, Meghann loves to create a space to truly embrace the meaning of yoga. The quieting of the mindstuff, to invoke the inner seer, to learn the connection of how your breath affects every moment of your life.
