Paula Battle moved to Tacoma Washington in 1987 and has been teaching fitness since 2009. She had a heart-related medical emergency and advised to start walking for a fitness regime and to focus on diet changes. Her walk was bringing people together and she has a passion for bringing people together. In 2009, she furthered her desire to bring people together with walking and received her certification to teach Walk and Toning Classes, an indoor group fitness class centered around cardio, resistance bands, and light weights known as Walk Live. She started a Walking Fitness Group “Walk Divas” in 2010 bringing the community together with Walking Events and Free Fitness Classes in churches, parks, hospitals, schools, festivals and anywhere she could find open space. She volunteers for the American Heart Association speaking in schools, churches, health, and wellness events telling her heart related story and the importance of knowing the signs of a stroke and heart attack. She participated as a 911 Dancer spreading a dance to the signs of a heart attack song and dancing around town using a 911 song and dance as an education tool to help save lives with awareness.
Walking started her love for fitness, and 2014 she became a MixxedFit® Instructor in hopes of bringing more people together. She never lost her love for walking. Walking turned into fitness which led to dance and into dance fitness. She continued to bring people together and in 2015, she was nominated to be a MixxedFit® Washington State Master Educator, then MixxedFit® National Trainer. She traveled the states spreading fitness love with MixxedFit®. In Washington State where she lived for 33 years, she taught at Pacific Lutheran University, Star Center, East Side Community Center, Portland Avenue Community Center, 24 Hour Fitness, and Calloway Fitness along with a host of festivals including the Washington State Fair.
December 2020, she relocated to Northern Virginia and continued to teach MixxedFit® at St James Performance Club Reston, VAElite , Formation Studio of Dance Sterling, Va. and Fabletics Store in Tysons Corner, VA. Paula created NOVAMD a group of women who come together to fellowship with fitness in Virginia. She loves supporting all fitness formats and classes and spreads the message of finding something you love and doing it a lot! As a grandmother she brings a blast of energy to all workouts.
Paula loves bringing people together through fitness, fitness fundraisers, dance, and walking. She enjoys hosting free events in schools, parks, town centers, pavilions, malls and even in her neighborhood.
