May-Lissa Valentin

May-Lissa has been teaching Zumba for seven years. She is originally from Brookly, New York with Haitian roots, but currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska. She currently teaches at Genesis Health Clubs, Aksarben location and VASA fitness.

As an instructor, she is passionate about fostering strong connections and building a sense of community with her students. Beyond the classroom, she actively participates in local events throughout the Omaha Metro area, such as Zumba in the Park, community events and schools. There, she collaborates with fellow Zumba instructors and instructors, teaching other dance fitness formats to offer exciting pop-up dance fitness events. Her commitment to creating an inclusive, energetic, and fun environment extends beyond teaching, as she brings people together to enjoy movement, fitness, and camaraderie.

May-Lissa is a dedicated full-time Clinical Compliance Assistant at Clarkson College, currently pursuing her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. With a background in both public service and healthcare, she has gained valuable experience working at the Department of Health and Human Services as a Social Services Worker and at Nebraska Medicine as a Patient Access Associate. While her professional career may not be directly centered on health and wellness, May-Lissa has always been deeply passionate about promoting health and wellness through dance and joy, as she loves to share with others. Her commitment to both healthcare and fitness allows her to bring a unique perspective to everything she does.

May-Lissa infuses her classes with vibrant Caribbean flair and an infectious energy that captivates her participants. She is deeply committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment, always prioritizing the needs and well-being of her members. With a focus on building confidence and positivity, she ensures that every participant leaves her class feeling empowered, uplifted, and ready to take on the world.
