Marquita C. Ardrey is a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina, where she was born and raised. She graduated from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering in 2008 and a Master of Science in Information Technology in 2011. She is a member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was initiated in Spring 2010. She is currently employed full-time by ITC Federal as a Senior Systems Analyst. She loves her family, music, dancing, teaching her fitness classes and having a great time with no worries.
She started her fitness career in 2011 when she decided to take her first Zumba® class to shed a few pounds for her upcoming wedding. At the time, she hated working out and lifting weights, yet loved to dance, so she decided to try “dance fitness.” She immediately fell in love with the format and just a few months later became a licensed Zumba® Fitness Instructor in 2012 in Dallas, TX. She later became licensed in Aqua, Gold, Toning and Strong by Zumba. Upon moving to Virginia, she was introduced to MixxedFit® and became a licensed MixxedFit® Instructor in 2014 and has previously held the title of National Trainer & Master Educator. She also became an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor in 2015.
She is currently a COMMIT Dance Fitness Instructor and Creative Team Member, as well as a certified Chair One Fitness Instructor and former Lead Educator. She has been certified in both formats since 2018.
Her philosophy is this…Dance Fitness (standing or in a chair) is an “Exercise in Disguise” and can be done by any and everyone. “Listen to your body, drink plenty of water, keep moving, make some noise, but most importantly…HAVE FUN!!!”
