As a wife, mother of three, and a high school reading teacher by day, Lilee’s life revolves around nurturing and educating those around her. Yet, when the sun sets, a different facet of her identity takes the stage – that of a dedicated Zumba fitness instructor. Her unexpected journey into the world of fitness has not only changed her life but also became a powerful source of inspiration for others.
Early Beginnings: Prior to stepping into dance fitness, Lilee was a High School Varsity SpiritLine Coach and Track Coach. In 2012, her life took an unexpected turn when she became a certified Zumba Fitness instructor. The decision was not one she had planned for; it happened because of her younger sister, who needed assistance at her Zumba Fitness studio during her pregnancy. At first, she hesitated, unsure of her abilities. Little did she know this decision would become a turning point in her life. As soon as she stepped onto that dance floor, she found a passion that she couldn’t put down, and she hasn’t taken off her dance shoes since.
Certifications and Expertise: Lilee’s journey as a Zumba instructor led her to expand her knowledge and skills in various aspects of fitness. Over the years, she’s acquired numerous certifications that include Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Kids, Zumba Gold, and Strong by Zumba and over 150 Zumba Jam sessions. Her commitment to learning and personal growth extends beyond Zumba as she’s also completed trainings in basic cycling, Mixxedfit, Freedom Bang and Freedom Barre.
Empowering Others: Lilee understands the value of mentorship and empowerment. In her role as a fitness instructor, she’s had the privilege of inspiring countless individuals to achieve their health and fitness goals. She firmly believes that fitness is a transformative tool, and her classes are not just about dance and exercise but also about fostering a sense of community and self-confidence. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness her students overcome their insecurities, discover their strength, and shine both inside and out.
Balancing Act: Maintaining work / life balance as a full-time educator and part-time fitness instructor can be challenging, but it’s a journey she embraces wholeheartedly. She’s learned the importance of self-care and the positive impact it has on her ability to care for others. Her fitness journey has not only enriched her life but has also shown her family the importance of staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle. Her fitness journey began as a reluctant step into a Zumba class but transformed into a lifelong mission to inspire and empower those around her. Through dedication, perseverance, and a love for dance and fitness, she’s learned that we all have the power to rewrite our stories, one dance step at a time.
