Antonio, also known as “Tono,” is a ZIN who was first introduced to Zumba® in 2010 while playing the Zumba® Fitness video game at work. Soon after, friends challenged him to take his first Zumba™ class in 2011—and he was hooked.
Antonio became a ZIN in 2013 to experience the perks and continue being a Zumba® enthusiast. In 2015, he began teaching at Rehearsal Works in Sumner, WA, and now teaches at the Federal Way Community Center while also substituting at DanceFit City in Renton.
Antonio has supported Zumba® Presenter Lisa Marie as a dancer in her Fly Girl 101 sessions at ZINCON 2018 and 2019. Since 2015, he has hosted an annual Jackson Edition Masterclass around Michael Jackson’s birthday to benefit charities, as well as an annual Purple Masterclass since 2018 honoring the music of Prince and related artists. Antonio often volunteers and assists other instructors with fundraisers, establishing classes, and choreography.
He was named one of the Zumba® “Unsung Heroes” in April 2017, along with Rachel Evans of Norwich, due to their efforts to raise funds for a local hospice support group in England. Antonio has logged many miles to support fellow ZINs and has instructed in various cities across Virginia, Florida, Idaho, Oregon, California, Maryland, Belgium, and England.
Antonio is known for his energetic teaching style, fun choreography, loyalty to attendees, and genuine love for people and important causes.
