Newly retired world language teacher Telu Ramos has spent the last twenty-five years dancing through life with her Puerto Rican husband while working full-time as an educator in the Clark County School District. Together, they raised two sons and are happiest at home teaching their grandchildren to appreciate both Latin and Polynesian music, dance, language and culture.
With her Spanish language background, Telu first came to the fitness industry in 2013 as a Zumba instructor. She loved it, but her heart and soul were called to another dance format. After an amazing mentorship, she joined the Hot Hula fitness family as a certified instructor in 2018. Teaching weekly classes for a nation-wide gym, facilitating demonstrations, attending workshops, trainings, seminars and mentoring new instructors keep her happy and busy!
Born in the Pacific Islands, Telu is proud of her multi-ethnic heritage and never misses an opportunity to learn about other people and their cultures. She is active in the local Polynesian community, participating in and helping to organize events to not only share her culture but to also raise funds for those in need, such as the recent disaster in Lahaina, Maui.
Telu is a firm believer that fitness should never be a “one-size fits all” mentality. She knows that everyone is on their own journey where consistency is the key to success. Her goal is to help others find what motivates them in order to stay on their path and cultivate their own passion to move through dance fitness.
